Pro Tip:
The most common thing I see is stacking wood planks on the facia of the exterior of a deck. This is done due to the misconception that if multiple layers of wood are stacked - that this would reinforce the edges. This always leads to expedited deck rot because it allows water to seep in and stay in. Common symptoms of a rotted deck is leaning posts, spongy planks and sagging rails. Instead - add an additional reinforcement beam underneath the deck for added stability.
